Travel Teams (Girls)

In club volleyball, travel teams represent the most competitive, high-commitment level of play a club offers. Unlike local recreational leagues or skill clinics, travel teams are designed for players looking to compete at a regional or national level.

Core Characteristics of a Travel Team

• Tryout-Based Selection: Players must attend competitive tryouts to earn a spot on a roster. Selection is based on skill, athletic potential, positional fit, and team needs.

• Extended Season & High Commitment: Seasons typically run 5 to 7 months (usually November through May or June), with practices 2–3 times per week plus regular weekend tournaments.

• Travel to Multi-Day Tournaments: Teams travel outside their immediate area to compete against other clubs. Depending on the team level, tournaments can range from local convention centers to out-of-state multi-day events.

• Comprehensive Development & Cost: Travel teams carry the highest financial and time investment in club volleyball, covering professional coaching fees, court rental, tournament entries, uniforms, and travel expenses.
